Orientation for new students is usually scheduled for the week before teaching is schedule to start in September and January. In September, an official announcement is made in a special orientation issue of Mona News and The Gleaner. Academic advising for returning students is also scheduled for this period.
In January, new students are contacted individually with details of the orientation and registration activities. Students may also visit the Faculty’s website for announcements relating to orientation.
Our 7 faculties and 12 professional schools offer more than 200 programmes to some 18,000 graduate, undergraduate and continuing studies students.
The UWI, Mona ranks first in Jamaica among accredited tertiary-level programmes. In 2012, the University was again one of Jamaica’s Top 100 Employers.
