I would like to congratulate all new students being accepted to the University of the West Indies, Mona. Also, I would like to extend a special welcome to the returning students in the faculty.

To our new tigers, you have made the best choice in selecting the University of the West Indies for your tertiary education and in particular, selecting the Faculty of Social Sciences as your faculty. Welcome to the Massive! You are studying amongst the greatest minds in the world and as such, we anticipate great things from you during your tenure here.

This institution is a pathway to countless opportunities and  we encourage you to take full advantage of the resources available. Get involved in extracurricular activities, be active in organizations, clubs, and societies and value the importance of peers and friendships throughout this journey. Also, keep in mind that the administration and faculty staff are here to guide and support you, so never hesitate to reach out to them when needed. We hope at the end of the academic year, you will begin to find solace, motivation, and strength in the Faculty of Social Sciences.

To our returning tigers, I admire and applaud your determination to persevere despite all the challenges you may have faced. The FSS guild committee continues to support you on the sidelines while you strive toward success. The race has not been easy in the previous year,but we are tigers and tigers never yield.

The FSS Guild Committee remains dedicated to serving your interests and ensuring that students experience maximum engagement. We will continue collaborating closely with the administration to raise and address concerns in order to provide  the best possible university experience for all students. Our committee has a number of exciting plans in store, and with your support, this academic year will be nothing short of a success.
