The Faculty of Social Sciences at The University of the West Indies, Mona, proudly announces its 2025 Valedictorians, two exceptional scholars whose academic excellence and leadership have left an indelible mark on the campus community.

Cam-Ron Davis, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Statistics, exemplifies resilience and distinction. A former Senior Prefect at Immaculate Conception High School, Davis ranked 2nd in the Caribbean for CAPE Economics Unit 1 and earned a coveted spot on the CAPE Territorial Merit List. At UWI Mona, she maintained a stellar record, making the Dean’s List every year, serving as First Vice President of the Honours Society, and receiving the Mona Student Performance Award. Her journey, shaped by determination as the eldest child in a single-parent household, has fueled her passion for sustainable development and transformative leadership in the Caribbean’s financial sector. Davis has already gained professional experience in wealth management, banking, and quality assurance laying the foundation for her ambitious vision.

Courtney McGregor, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Computer Science, is equally inspiring. A proud alumnus of St. Jago High School and recipient of the TVJ School Challenge Quiz Scholarship, McGregor funded his entire university education through academic excellence. At UWI, he embraced leadership, serving as Deputy Guild Treasurer of Initiatives and founding the So-Sci Scholar Hub, a peer tutoring network that supports students across faculties. His commitment to education continues as he pursues an MPhil in Computer Science, aspiring to become a lecturer who empowers future generations through knowledge and opportunity.

Together, Davis and McGregor embody the spirit of excellence, perseverance, and service that define the Faculty of Social Sciences. Their achievements remind us that hard work and vision can transform challenges into triumphs.
