The Faculty successfully hosted its 2026 Writers’ Retreat from January 7-11 at the Cardiff Hotel & Spa, Runaway Bay. Eighteen (18) participants attended, including doctoral students and academic and administrative staff from FSS and FST. The Retreat was supported by two Professors-in-Residence, Professor Delroy Chevers and Professor Eris Schoburgh. It offered dedicated writing time, one-on-one mentorship, and peer feedback sessions. These activities were designed to strengthen research quality and increase scholarly output. Participant evaluations were overwhelmingly positive. Attendees affirmed the relevance of the sessions, the supportive environment, and the strong coordination. The Retreat remains a strategic initiative to improve doctoral completion, boost research productivity, and foster cross-faculty collaboration.
