Horacia Benjamin - Student Recognition Awardee

Horacia Benjamin and Dr. Lisa Vasciannie
The Faculty of Social Sciences proudly shines its spotlight on Horacia Benjamin, a second-year International Relations major, who has been nominated for the FSS Student Recognition by Dr. Lisa Vasciannie, Head of the Department of Government.

Horacia is the type of student who operates quietly below the radar, never seeking recognition for herself. Yet, Dr. Vasciannie believes she truly embodies the Tiger Pride of the Faculty. She describes Horacia as a hard worker with an insatiable quest for knowledge, someone who consistently demonstrates initiative, reliability, and a positive attitude.

Her leadership has already made a meaningful impact. Horacia served as one of the key student leaders on the Department’s Youth Initiative with the Organization of American States (OAS), where her quiet dedication and steady commitment helped drive success. Beyond formal roles, she is always willing to lend a helping hand, supporting both staff and peers with a humility that often goes unnoticed.

This recognition celebrates the value of showing up, stepping in, and making a difference, even when the spotlight isn’t sought. Horacia Benjamin exemplifies the spirit of service and excellence that defines the Faculty of Social Sciences, and we are immensely proud to honor her contributions.
