"Studying entrepreneurship under the guidance of Dr. Kadamawe Knife was one of the most transformative aspects of my degree"
Brandon Fisher recently graduated from The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, with First Class Honours in Entrepreneurship and a minor in Accounting. Currently serving as a Customer Service Officer at Scotiabank, Brandon is preparing to pursue his Master’s degree in Financial Technology, a path shaped by the practical, hands‑on approach of the entrepreneurship programme.
Through courses such as Introduction to Entrepreneurship, New Venture Management, and Social Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development, Brandon gained critical skills in market analysis, business modelling, and strategic planning. These frameworks not only strengthened his academic foundation but also empowered him to refine and grow his own venture, ReStyle JA.
The course that left the deepest impact was Social Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development. Guided by Dr. Knife’s dynamic teaching style, Brandon discovered that business can be more than profit‑driven, it can be a powerful tool for solving community challenges and creating meaningful impact.
Reflecting on his journey, Brandon emphasizes that the programme’s influence extends far beyond venture creation. The analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability, ethical awareness, and innovative mindset he developed continue to shape his professional career in banking and will support his future in fintech.
Brandon’s story is a testament to how entrepreneurship education at UWI equips students with the mindset, tools, and perspective to innovate, lead, and transform society.
