De novo CD5-positive Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma Primarily Presenting as Spinal Cord Compression: A Case Report

ABSTRACT

De novo CD5-positive (CD5+) diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a highly aggressive subtype of DLBCL with a high incidence of misdiagnosis when spinal cord compression is the initial symptom. We report a case of a 45-year old man with de novo CD5+ DLBCL primarily presenting as spinal cord compression. Unfortunately, this patient was resistant to rituximab-based therapy, which indicated a poor prognosis.

Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibody-negative Pauci-immune Crescentic Glomerulonephritis and Mantle-cell Lymphoma: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

Issue:
DOI:

Pages:

Synopsis:
We report on a rare case of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-negative pauci-immune crescentic glomerulonephritis (GN) probably due to mantle-cell lymphoma (MCL). Chemotherapy may improve the outcome. The pathophysiologic relationship between ANCA-negative pauci-immune crescentic GN and MCL should be investigated further.

YY1-miR-146a-YY1 Regulatory Circuitry: A Potential Mechanism of Prostate Cancer Formation and Progression

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimjopen.2013.314
Synopsis:
YY1, a critical regulator in prostate cancer, is predicted to be a direct target of miR-146a and binds to promoter region of miR-146a which demonstrates that YY1-miR-146a-YY1 regulatory circuitry may contribute to prostate cancer and serve as a future intervention target.
