Tips to Save Water

  • Identify and stop leakages of pipes and other faucets.
  • Remember when brushing your teeth turn off the tap when its not in use, example after wetting the toothbrush. (Use automated faucets set at 5 seconds)
  • When using a dish or clothes washer wait until you have a full load before proceeding.
  • Collecting and properly storing rainwater is also water conservation.
  • Minimize the amount of water used to take showers. (use water conservation shower rose available at a local hardware)
  • Recycle water for example, instead of disposing of used water reuse for gardening. (Reed beds)
  • Use toilets rated at 1.6 GPF (Gallons per flush). If your facility was designed before 1992 your toilets could be using 3.5 gallons per flush and if they were installed before 1984 it could be 5-7 GPF! Your water saving could be 15% to 29%!
