The UWI Regional Endowment Fund Scholarships and Bursaries	socsci	The UWI Endowment Fund Scholarships and Bursaries is one of the ways that the University of the West Indies seeks to attract all-round high achievers among the region’s high school students, community and state college graduates and current UWI students. The V M Investments Limited Business, Maurice C. Robinson Business Management and Economics Scholarship	fst, socsci		The award is available to Jamaica Nationals who are Full time students registered in the Faculty of Social Sciences or Faculty of Science and Technology entering final year or with 2 years remaining. Pursuing studies in the Business, Management, Data Analytics/Data Science and Economics or related fields.	J $500,000	One (1)	Up to two (2) years		The following terms and conditions apply: The recipient must continue to meet all the established criteria during the year. Participation in an internship programme with VMIL is an option in years that VMIL hosts its internship programme Volunteer service requirements.	The award will be based on: academic performance based on the results of the previous year University examinations (minimum GPA of 3.0); verifiable financial need; active participation in extracurricular activities; demonstrates leadership qualities, volunteerism and social involvement. The Vincent and Patricia VP Foundation Scholarship			The award is available to registered students who are: Entering their first year Pursuing a degree in Entertainment and Cultural Enterprise Management	JMD $500,000.00 each	Two (2)	Three (3) Years			The award will be based on: Financial need Participation in co-curricular activities Preference will be given to students from inner city communities.	Short-listed candidates will be selected by a panel comprising of UWI personnel and the donor.	Applications must be accompanied by: a 600-words personal essay outlining biographical data, career aspirations, reason for choice of degree programme, community involvement and co-curricular activities. Two character references: one of which must come from a Senoir Teacher of the applicants High School attesting to the applicants academic ability, potential, demonstrated leadrship qualities and involvement in music and their chosen field of study. All references must affix the official stamp of their department/organization.
The Violet N. Edwards Scholarship	fst, Faculty of Sports, humed, socsci		The award is available to students registered in the Undergraduate Degree programme and are: Jamaican nationals; any age; registered in the Faculty of Humanities & Education, Faculty of Science & Technology, or Faculty of Social Sciences. NB: Preference will be given to an adult returning student, who may have previously dropped out of a degree program due to hardship.	$400,000.00 annually	Two (2)	Three (3) years			The award will be based on: verifiable financial need. high academic performance where students must maintain at least 3.0 GPA, although a lower GPA of 2.5 may be acceptable based upon extenuating circumstances.	Applicants are short-listed on the basis of performance in Advanced Level GCE/CAPE Examination or University Examination; Candidates would be interviewed by a panel comprising personnel from theUniversity and the donors.

The William McConnell Nursing Scholarship			The award is available to students who are: • registered in the Faculty of Medical Sciences pursuing a B.Sc. degree in Nursing • entering Level II of the programme.	Tuition and Books	One (1) per annum	Four (4) years		• After completion of the approved course of study the recipient will be required to remain in the employment of the University Hospital of the West Indies and be assigned to the UHWI Private Wing or UHWI for a period of two (2) years following graduation.	The awards will be based on: • a record of high academic achievement by maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; • verifiable financial need.	Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel comprising of the UHWI Private Wing Board Director, UHWI General Manager and a representative of St. Elizabeth Holdings Limited.
UHWI Batch 63 Scholarship			The award is available to students at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus in the Undergraduate Degree programme who: are Jamaican nationals; are registered in the Nursing programme at the UWI School of Nursing (UWISON); have completed two years of studies in the undergraduate Nursing program( years 3 students eligible to apply).	$2500 USD per annum				Students must write an essay of 300-400 words explaining why he or she should be the recipient of this financial need-based scholarship. Provide two references as per the University’s prospective reference list. (At least one reference must complete the UWI Reference Form)	The award will be based on: high academic performance (and is renewable to the same student in the 4th year if a GPA of at least 3.0 is maintained at the end of year 3). verifiable financial need; involvement in co-curricular/community activities;	The awardee will be selected by UWISON and UWI representatives	The recipient (s) of this scholarship will be expected to work in Jamaica for at least one year after graduating from UWISON.
Undergraduate Scholarship in Linguistics			The awards will be available to registered full-time students who are: Jamaican Nationals; in the Faculty of Humanities & Education pursuing a major in Linguistics, a Special in Languages and Linguistics or a Special in Linguistics entering Level Two (2) or Three (3) of the programme.	$300,000 each	Two (2) awards annually - (one second year and one third year)			Continuation on the award for the final year will be based on the awardee maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last academic year University's examinations.
