Physics Students awarded Bursaries/Prizes for Outstanding Academic Performance

The Department of Physics celebrates the achievements of Cadane, Deaja, Theodore and Wills who were recently awarded bursaries/prizes from the us at a ceremony held on December 13, 2021.  The students were honoured for maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.3 in their respective Physics majors for the 2020/2021 academic year. The details of the awards are:

Mr. Cadane Codner (Medical Physics) was awarded the Michael Neville McMorris Prize. This Prize is offered by the McMorris family in memory of Dr. Michael Neville McMorris, former Head, Department of Physics and past Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology (formerly Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences).
Miss Deaja Manning (Energy and Environmental Physics) was awarded the Charlton Foundation Bursary. The Bursary is facilitated by Ms. Candice Charlton, FST Alum and Research Assistant in the Department of Physics, The UWI Mona.
Theodore Bennett (Electronics and Computer Science) was awarded the Physics Honours Society Bursary which is sponsored by the Department of Physics and Dr. Venkateswara Penugonda, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics.
Mr. Wills Small (Electronics) was also awarded a Physics Honours Society Bursary.

The Department extends congratulations to the awardees and expresses it's gratitude to the donors/partners for their unwavering support.
