Synopsis:
The aim of this study was to examine the impact of sildenafil citrate, vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E on wound healing in diabetics. It was decided that when it is necessary to recommend an ideal combination for the wound of a diabetic, it would be beneficial to use sildenafil citrate together with vitamin A and vitamin C.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To examine the impact of sildenafil citrate, vitamin A (Vit A), vitamin C (Vit C) and vitamin E (Vit E) on wound healing in a rat model of diabetes (n = 100).

Immunohistopathological and Biochemical Study of the Effects of Dead Nettle (Urtica Dioica) Extract on Preventing Liver Lesions Induced by Experimental Aflatoxicosis in Rats

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2016.126
Pages:
254-61
Synopsis:
This paper studied the preventive effects of dead nettle extract on liver lesions that were induced by experimental aflatoxicosis in rats. According to the biochemical and histopathological findings of the study, antioxidant system activity increased and lipid peroxidation and liver enzyme levels decreased in the group that received dead nettle leaf extract. As a result, it could be concluded that dead nettle leaf extract had hepatoprotective effects against aflatoxicosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective: Aflatoxicosis is a mycotoxicosis infection with an acute or chronic course that forms due to aflatoxins (AFs) in humans and animals. Aflatoxins primarily affect the liver and can lead to histopathological necrosis, fibrosis and hepatocarcinogenesis of the organ. This paper studied the preventive effects of dead nettle leaf (Urtica dioica leaf; UDL) extract on liver lesions that were induced by experimental aflatoxicosis in rats.
