Mutation and Efflux System are Responsible for Ciprofloxacin Resistance in Klebsiella pneumoniae

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2015.324
Pages:
226-8
Synopsis:
The results demonstrated that the main mechanism of ciprofloxacin resistance was via the AcrAB efflux system with a decrease of the level of minimal inhibitory concentration, but the other mechanism including mutation of gyrA and presence of quinolone resistance loci was also considerable.

The Role of FLT3-ITD and CEBPA Mutations on the Prognosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in Turkish patients

DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2015.446
Synopsis:
In this article, we evaluated the prognostic value of FLT3-ITD and CEBPA mutations in ALL. We did not detect any relationship between FLT3-ITD and CEBPA mutations as prognostic factors. However, FLT3-ITD mutation may affect the response to chemotherapy.

The Role of FLT3-ITD and CCAAT-Enhancer-Binding Protein α Mutations on Prognosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in Turkish Patients

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2015.446
Pages:
494-8
Synopsis:
In this article, we evaluated the prognostic value of FLT3-ITD and CCAAT-enhancer-binding protein α (CEBPA) mutations in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. We did not detect any relationship between FLT3-ITD and CEBPA mutations as prognostic factors. However, FLT3-ITD mutation may affect the response to chemotherapy.

ABSTRACT

Background: Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) is the most common malignancy in childhood. Although some prognostic factors have been defined to date, the estimation of prognosis is currently not perfect. Previous studies had shown an association of FLT3 with poor prognosis and CCAAT-enhancer-binding protein α (CEBPA) mutation with the development of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). Here, we aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of FLT3-ITD and CEBPA mutations in ALL.
