Is UWI Mona still admitting students for the upcoming academic year?

Yes.  The deadline to submit applications for BSc degree programmes has been extended by a month to April 30, 2020. There is no fee for applying to the UWI Mona Campus. UWI Mona will be accepting digital copies of supporting documents (uncertified), to accommodate those who are unable to submit original documents or have their documents certified at this time. Applicants will be contacted at a later date to be advised of the deadline for submitting supporting documents.

When will the 2020/2021 academic year begin?

The University has not yet determined a date but will continue to monitor the pandemic to determine the earliest start date for the 2020-2021 academic year. You will be duly informed.

What is Academic Forgiveness?

Academic Forgiveness is normally applied to students who either withdraw voluntarily or because the University required them to withdraw.

Essentially, a student who has been required to withdraw (RTW) from the University has three (3) options.

How many credits do I need per semester?

The number of credits you will be allowed to take is dependent on your enrolment status.  Please note applicable regulations below:

  • All students are initially registered as full-time or part-time students but may apply to the Faculty Office via the online student portal, SAS, to change their enrolment status.

 

How do I make a Cross-Campus Application

Outlined below are the steps Mona students must follow to pursue courses at another campus, i.e., Open Campus, Cave Hill and St. Augustine:

Will I be allowed to declare a minor in my first year?

No.  Permission for a minor or second major will only be granted after you have completed year 1 of your study.
