Kingston, Jamaica – A distinguished team of academics from the University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona Campus has been honoured with the Outstanding Paper Award at the 2024 Research & Innovation Forum (RII Conference) held in Ravello, Italy.

Congratulations to Dr Caryl James on being promoted to Professor!

The promotion to professor (The UWI's highest academic rank) was the result of a rigorous review of the quantity and quality of their research, publications, teaching, and other professional activities by both internal and external assessors. Dr James received commendation for the practical applicability of their research and potential impact value for industry and societal sectors within the Caribbean region and globally.

Congratulations Prof Waller

On the 16th of October 2023, National Heroes Day in Jamaica, the esteemed Professor Lloyd Waller from the University of the West Indies, Mona was honoured with the Order of Distinction (Commander Class) for his remarkable contributions to global tourism resilience and governance. The award, presented at King's House in Kingston, is a testament to Professor Waller's unwavering dedication to enhancing the resilience and sustainability of the global tourism industry.
