The FSSUWIMONA Wellness Study

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) is inviting students to volunteer for a significant virtual research study on wellness.

Led by Professor Caryl James, this project is a randomized controlled trial aimed at determining how AI relational accountability and engagement can be used to improve student wellness. We are recruiting university student volunteers aged 18 and older.

UWI Fiscal Research Centre: A Look at What's Ahead

The UWI Fiscal Research Centre (UWI-FRC) is a partnership between the University of the West
Indies (UWI), through the Department of Economics at Mona, the Inter-American Development Bank
(IDB), and the Institute of Fiscal Studies and Democracy (IFSD) at the University of Ottawa.
 
It was launched at the University of the West Indies on October 22, 2024, to advance public finance
and policy research, as well as address gaps in fiscal management education in the Caribbean.

FSS and Curves Partner for Student Wellness

Last week, the Faculty of Social Sciences partnered with the dedicated FSS Guild Committee and the sanitary napkin brand, Curves, to launch an initiative providing free sanitary napkins to female students. These sanitary napkins are conveniently located in the SSLT female bathroom. This effort highlights our core commitment to the well-being and success of every student.

Vasciannie vows to increase impact of UWI Mona Department of Government

DR Lisa Vasciannie, who will assume leadership of the Department of Government, The University of the West Indies (The UWI), Mona, on August 1, has declared her commitment to advancing its impact on national development.

According to Vasciannie, this will be done through the department’s core undergraduate and graduate programmes in political science, public policy, and international relations.
