Professor Stuart Hall 1932 - 2014 Culture, Politics, Race and Diaspora: the Thought of Stuart Hall”, theme of the Third Annual Conference in the series: Caribbean Reasonings” is also the theme of the exhibition by the Main Library, University of the West Indies in honour of Stuart Hall. A distinguished and well-respected thinker, theorist, sociologist, and political activist, Hall was born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1932. He attended Jamaica College and in 1950 was the recipient of both the Jamaica and Rhodes scholarships. The exhibition highlights his high school accomplishments, his cultural and political activism in Britain, his scholarship, his impressive public service record, as well as his numerous honours and awards. The exhibition is remounted in his memory. (Feb 2014)
