UWI-MINET is a network of libraries on the Mona Campus of The University of the West Indies and other affiliated libraries with the Main Library as its focal point. It is a component/subsystem of the National Integrated Library and Information Network (JAMLIN) which is coordinated by the National Library of Jamaica. UWI-MINET was established by the former Campus Librarian, Mrs. Norma Amenu-Kpodo, in 2009 and its first meeting was convened on Tuesday, March 31st 2009.
Embodied in UWI-MINET’s objective is the creation of a campus-wide online catalogue, the new union catalogue. Users search a combined catalogue, having access to a larger pool of resources, which includes the holdings of all branches but must pay attention to where items displayed are located.
Most of our members are located on the Mona Campus or in close proximity to it, except for the Western Jamaica Campus (WJC). The membership reflects the diversity of the university campus and includes:

Our 7 faculties and 12 professional schools offer more than 200 programmes to some 18,000 graduate, undergraduate and continuing studies students.
The UWI, Mona ranks first in Jamaica among accredited tertiary-level programmes. In 2012, the University was again one of Jamaica’s Top 100 Employers.
