1. Sir Arthur Lewis Day 2024:

The University of the West Indies, Mona is known for its rich academic history and cultural diversity. It's a hub of intellectual stimulation and social discourse, making it an ideal setting for events that promote the arts and foster international relations. On the 19th of October, 2023, the British High Commission in Kingston and the Faculty of Social Sciences hosted “We Rebuild We Reclaim” a captivating film touring programme curated by We Are Parable with the British Council.

The Faculty of Social Sciences congratulates Professor Densil Williams on his appointment as Principal of the Mona campus, beginning August 1, 2023. Professor Williams is one of our own, being a proud graduate of the Faculty and former Executive Director of the Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM). We wish him every success in his tenure as Principal.

The Faculty of Social Sciences commends The UWI Model United Nations (UWIMUN) team which recently won five (5) awards at the recently held Harvard Model UN Competition in Washington from February 14th to 21st , 2023.

Join us in congratulating Shullette Cox a FSS Alumna who has been appointed as the new President of JAMPRO. During her time at the university she was an International Relations and Economics double major. This a testament for where she has landed herself today.
