The award is available to Jamaican Nationals who:

 

    • are registered in a full-time undergraduate degree programme at the School of Nursing;
    • have completed at least one academic year of full time study and will continue the degree programme.
J$100,000.00 Two (2) Two (2) years

The award will be based on:

 

    • strong academic performance at the University level with a minimum GPA of 3.0;
    • verifiable financial need;
    • demonstrable involvement in co-curricular and volunteer activities.

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by a selection panel comprised of UWI and Donor representatives.

IGL RAZAI AZARD RAHAMAN SCHOLARSHIP FOR MEDICINE medsci

The award is available to Jamaican Nationals who:

 

    • are registered in the first year of the full-time undergraduate MB,BS programme in the Faculty of Medical Sciences (Sponsored programme).
J$650,000.00 Two (2) Five (5) years

The award will be based on:

 

    • solid academic performance in CAPE 1 & 2 results;
    • verifiable financial need;
    • demonstrable involvement in co-curricular activities.

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by a selection panel comprised of UWI and Donor representatives.

Inez Morrison Scholarship fst, humed, law, medsci, socsci

The award is available to full time registered students who are: 

    • Jamaican nationals;
    • pursuing studies leading to a first degree in any faculty

 

US $2500.00 ($J equivalent) One (1) Two (2) years

The award will be based on:

    • verifiable financial need;
    • high academic achievement (minimum GPA of 3.0) 

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by a panel comprising personnel from the Office of Student Financing and the Faculty to which the applicant belongs. 

Insurance Association of the Caribbean Scholarship fst

The award is available to: 

  • Caribbean nationals;
  • students in the Faculty of Science & Technology pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science;
  • entering the second or third year.
USD $2000.00 One One (1) Year

The award will be based on:

  • high academic achievement (GPA of 3.0 or above)

Application should be accompanied by: 

  • CV/ Resume 
  • A copy of current transcript information
  • A 750 - 1000 word essay outlining how you were inspired to pursue a career in the insurance industry and your career objectives following graduation 
  • Letter of Objectives
  • Letter of Recommendation

J.E.T.S. Limited 21st Anniversary Scholarship fst, humed, socsci

 The award is available to Jamaican Nationals who are:

  • studying at the Mona Campus;
  • pursuing a B.Sc. degree in Banking & Finance or Information Technology;
  • registered in the final year of the degree programme.
$150,000.00 One One (1) Year

The awards will be based on:

  • a record of high academic achievement in UWI examinations of Level II of the degree programme (a GPA of at least 3.0);
  • demonstrable financial need;
  • demonstrable involvement in community activities or goodwill service.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by the UWI named panel of judges. 

JAMAICA CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF NURSES SCHOLARSHIP medsci

The award is available to Jamaican Nationals who:

 

    • are registered in the BSc. Nursing full-time undergraduate degree programme at the School of Nursing;
    • will commence the second  or third year of the degree programme.
CAN$1,200.00 each (J$ equivalent) Two (2) One (1) year

The award will be based on:

 

    • high academic performance at the University level with a minimum GPA of 3.3;
    • verifiable financial need;
    • active participation in extra curricular activities;
    • demonstrated leadership qualities, volunteerism and social involvement. 

Shortlisted candidates will be reviewed by the Education Committee of the Jamaican Canadian Association of Nurses who will then make a selection. 

JAMAICA GOVERNMENT EXHIBITION engineering, fst, humed, socsci

The award is open to Jamaican Nationals who are: 

    • entering Level (Ι) or Level (ΙΙ) of an undergraduate degree programme (not full fee paying) in any Faculty of the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus;
    • not older than 25 years of age at the start of the academic year for which they are applying.
Tuition & contribution towards book grant Fifteen (15) per annum Regular duration of specified programme

Graduates will be required to serve in Jamaica for a minimum period of two years immediately after graduation. The bonding period will be determined by the Ministry of Finance and subject to the amount of money expended.

Students are required to: 

    • have high academic performance in at least three (3) subjects at CAPE Units Ι and ΙΙ and either Communication or Caribbean Studies

                             OR

    • have attained at least a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 at Level Ι of the UWI examinations;
    • have verifiable financial need;
    • be involved in co-curricular and/or community service activities;
    • possess strong leadership qualities.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel comprising personnel from the Ministry of Education, Principal's Association and the University of the West Indies.

Jamaica Institute of Financial Services (JIFS) Learning Grant -2024-2025 socsci

This award is available to students registered in the Faculty of Social Sciences who are: 

  • Pursuing a B.Sc. degree in Banking and Finance
  • Entering second or third year
J$75,000.00 One (1) One (1) Year

The award will be based on:

  • High academic achievement, minimum GPA of 3.3
  • Verfiable financial need
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel comprised of JIFS representatives

JAMAICA NATIONAL BUILDING SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIPS (THE) fst, humed, socsci

The awards are available to Jamaican Nationals at the Mona Campus who are:

  • Pursuing Level II or Level III of their studies;
  • Registered in the Faculties of Humanities & Education, Science and Technology or Social Sciences (major in Management Studies);
  • Holders of an active JNBS account.
J$130,000.00 Five (5) One (1) year

The successful applicants will be required to do 30 hours of voluntary service at the Best Care Children's Home.

The award will be based on:

  • Academic performance based on the results of the previous academic year University examinations (at least a GPA of 3.3);
  • Involvement in co-curricular activities
  • Verifiable financial need

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by a panel comprising personnel from the University and Donor Agency.

Jamaica Observer 25th Anniversary Scholarship fst, humed, medsci

The award is available to Jamaican students who are: 

  • entering at least level two (2)  of their programme; 
  • registered full time pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Journalism. 
J $300,000.00 Ten (10) One (1) year

The award will be based on: 

  • maintenance of a high level of academic performance (GPA of 3.0 or above);
  • verifiable financial need.
