TASTEE LIMITED SCHOLARSHIP FOR ACCOUNTING & MANAGEMENT socsci

The award is available to:

 

    • Jamaican Nationals entering the second year of studies in the Faculty of Social Sciences and pursuing studies in Accounting & Management.
    • Entering levels two (2) or three of the programme.
J$250,000.00 One (1) Two (2) years

The following Terms & Condition apply:

 

    • The recipient must continue to meet all the established criteria to qualify for the award in the subsequent year of tenure;
    • Tastee Ltd. maintains first right of employment after completion of the course of study;
    • Participation in an internship programme at Tastee Ltd;
    • Participation in facility tours, meetings and other forms of engagement with Tastee Ltd.

The award will be based on:

 

    • Academic performance based on the results of Year I University examinations (at least a GPA of 3.3);
    • Verifiable financial need;
    • Active participation in co-curricular activities;
    • Demonstrable leadership qualities, volunteerism and social involvement.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel consisting of representatives from Tastee Ltd., UWI & UWIDEF.

Forfeiture of any of the Terms and Conditions will require full repayment of the scholarship funds remitted on the recipient's behalf.

The award is available to:

 

    • Second year Jamaican Nationals entering the L.LB programme. 
J $300,000.00 One (1) Two (2) years

The following Terms & Condition apply:

 

    • The recipient must continue to meet all the established criteria to qualify for the award in the second year of tenure;
    • Participation in an internship programme at Tastee Ltd;
    • Participation in facility tours,meetings and other forms of engagement with Tastee Ltd.

The award will be based on:

 

    • Academic performance based on the results of the Year I University examinations (at least a GPA of 3.5);
    • Verifiable financial need;
    • Active participation in co-curricular activities;
    • Demonstrated leadership qualities, volunteerism and social involvement.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel consisting of representatives from Tastee Ltd., UWI & UWIDEF.

The 1980 Management Studies Graduating Class 40th Anniversary Bursary socsci

The award is available to two (2) Jamaican national students who are:

  • registered full-time at the Mona School of Business & Management in an undergraduate programme;
  • entering the second year of a three (3) year degree programme.
$160,000.00 Two (2) Two (2) years

The awards are based on:

  • maintenance of high level of scholastic performance in the preceding year of their studies, with a minimum GPA of 3.0;
  • verifiable financial need;
  • demonstration of involvement in co-curricular and community activities on the UWI campus and/or other communities.
  • Potential candidates will be short-listed by the Office of Student Financing.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel comprising members of the 1980 Management Studies graduating class and a member designated by Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM).
THE AFJ- COY FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP medsci

The award is available to Jamaica nationals pursuing a degree in the faculty of Medical Sciences. 

USD $4, 850.00 (JMD equivalent) One One (1) year

The award will be based on: 

 

    • verifiable financial need; 
    • high academic achievement.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a committee comprising personnel from the University and the AFJ Scholarship Committee.

The Alice Victoria Lloyd Bursary socsci

The award is available to:

  • Jamaica national;
  • students who are registered in second or third year in any Faculty at The UWI, Mona;
  • students who attended the Holy Childhood High School.
J $120,000.00 One (1) One (1)

 The award will be based on: 

  • high academic performance with a GPA of 3.0 or higher;
  • verifiable financial need;
  • involvement in co-curricular/community activities;
  • demonstrable leadership qualities etc.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel comprising personnel from the University wiith a representative from the donor.

The Batch 83 Nursing Scholarship

The award is available to Jamaican nationals who are:

  • registered in a full-time undergraduate degree programme at the School of Nursing.
US$4,000.00 each Two (2) per year One (1) year

The award will be based on:

  • verifiable financial need.

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by a panel comprising personnel from the University.

The Best Dressed Chicken Scholarship socsci

The award is available to Jamaica Nationals who are:

  • between the ages of 18-25;
  • full-time students registered in the Faculty of Social Sciences Entering YEAR ONE of study;
  • pursuing studies in Marketing at the UWI Mona Campus.
J $320,000.00 One (1) Three (3) years

The following terms and conditions apply:

  • The recipient must continue to meet all the established criteria to qualify for the subsequent award. (A 3.0 GPA is required to renew the award each year for the remainder of the 3-year program)
  • Participation in facility tours, meetings, and other forms of engagement with the sponsor.
  • Volunteer service requirements. (The recipient must complete 40 hours of volunteer work.)
  • if forfeited, the Donor will not honour the scholarship for the remaining years.

 

The award will be based on:

  • high academic performance based on the results of the CAPE examinations (minimum GPA of 3.0);
  • Verifiable financial need.

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by a panel of representatives from the UWI Development and Endowment Fund and the donor.

The recipient of this award will:

  • be available for a photo opportunity and provide written testimony on the usefulness of the assistance granted; 
  • be available to participate in any official ceremony related to the formal presentation of the scholarship award.

The award is available to Jamaica Nationals who are between the ages of 18-25, Full-time students registered in the Faculty of Social Sciences Entering YEAR ONE of study. Pursuing studies in Marketing at the UWI Mona Campus.
