The Prevalence of Supracondyloid Process in the Living: A Radiographic Study

Synopsis: 
The present study investigated the supracondyloid process, from direct radiograms, which has been of special interest to anatomists, anthropologists and clinicians. The process was found in 1% of persons. There was high bilateral occurrence of the process.

ABSTRACT

Objective: The spur or the supracondyloid process of the humerus has been of special interest to anatomists, anthropologists and clinicians. Apart from the anthropological research by ancient authors and clinical studies carried out half a century ago, no study of this variation appear in the literature. The aim of the present work is to investigate this variation in the living subjects.

Objectives: There are many benefits of regular exercise. The aim of this study was to determine the exercise habits and knowledge of the benefits of exercise in a South Trinidad population. This study also sought to determine the motivating factors for exercise and the barriers experienced by those who did not exercise.

The Detection of Mupirocin Resistance and the Distribution of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus at the University Hospital of the West Indies, Jamaica

Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus is an important cause of nosocomial infection. Nasal carriage plays an important role in its spread and is usually treated by topical mupirocin. The emergence of mupirocin resistance is significant since it is one of the few topical antimicrobial agents shown to be safe and effective.

West Indian Drug-herb Interaction Database 0.06 is a comprehensive database of the popular medicinal plants in the Caribbean and is intended to be utilized by primary care physicians and pharmacists. It might mitigate adverse drug reactions resulting from drug-herb interactions. It also provides details on the plants’ locations, preparation, bioactive ingredients, indications, toxic effects and indications.
ABSTRACT
Objective: Healthcare professionals in the Caribbean today know very little about these drug-herb interactions of the popular West Indian medicinal herb practices linked to the immigrants from West Africa and India, and to the indigenous Amerindians. It is the intent of this project to produce a database which comprehensively summarizes indications and possible drug-herb interactions of these

Effect of Menopause, Anthropometry, Nutrition and Lifestyle on Bone Status of Women in the Northern Mediterranean

In Mediterranean women, effects of menopause, age, anthropometry, nutrition and lifestyle on bone parameters were assessed. Broad Ultrasonic Attenuation and Speed of Sound were negatively predicted by menopause. Numerous effects were determined in postmenopausal compared to premenopausal women.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the influence of age, menopause, anthropometry, nutrition and lifestyle on bone status of women of the Northern Mediterranean Region of Croatia, which is considered the Adriatic Coast of Southeast Europe.
