She has bridged the multiple scholarly domains and reached the wider public with her work in cultural studies. She has caused the broader public to have an appreciation for Jamaican culture especially as it relates to our language, reggae and dancehall music.

Professor Aggrey Brown’scontributions and multifaceted service to media and communication in the region are extensive. He devoted considerable energy throughout his career to shifting media and communication education into the limelight as well as the advancement of the professional status of media and communication students in the region. He was the standard bearer for journalism and media communication.
Educator who made significant contributions to the development of early childhood education in the region and is often referred to as the ‘Father of Basic Schools’ in Jamaica. Dudley Grant developed the U.W.I. Institute of Education In-service course for untrained teachers in the Eastern Caribbean and went on to organize the first training programmed for teacher trainers in this same Caribbean area.
