Effect of MG-132 in Mice with Inflammatory Reaction of Acute Viral Myocarditis

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2016.258
Pages:
618-22
Synopsis:
This research aimed at evaluating the effect of proteasome inhibitor MG-132 in mice with inflammatory acute viral myocarditis and found that MG-132 protects mice from coxsackie virus B3 virus-induced acute viral myocarditis through suppressing the expression of inflammatory factors.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To determine the effects of proteasome inhibitor MG-132 on mice with an inflammatory reaction to acute viral myocarditis induced by coxsackie virus B3 virus (CVB3) infection.

ABSTRACT

Objective:  Complications seen in the out-patient clinic like chronic osteomyelitis, pathological fractures and limb length discrepancies especially in a 5year old girl with 5cm shorten right lower limb as a complication of untreated acute osteomyelitis stimulated this study. Objective is to find mode of presentation and treatment, reasons why a treatable and probably curable disease could lead devastating outcome and to make suggestions for prevention of such occurrence.

In-vivo Assessment of Antipyretic and Anti-inflammatory Activities of Gymnosporia royleana Extract in Mice

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2016.324
Pages:
129–135
Synopsis:
This research study deals with the screening of methanolic extract of Gymnosporia royleana for antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activities using reported models of brewer’s yeast induced pyrexia model and carrageenan-induced paw edema as well as xylene- induced ear edema models of mice.

ABSTRACT

Objective: Despite the presence of multitude of synthetic drugs against fever and inflammation, none has been proven entirely safe. In contrast, the accepted safety of plant derived natural products is inspiring the world. Based on this fact as well as in view of the diversified activities reported from the genus Gymnosporia, the present study was designed to evaluate the antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activity of Gymnosporia royleana (G royleana).
