The practical components of the level 2, semester 2 electronics courses will be explored in this laboratory course. The analytical and hands-on skills developed will be tested in a major project design that must be completed by the end of the semester. Where applicable, courses that were adopted from the electrical and computer engineering programme in St. Augustine will share similar laboratory exercises.
Experiments will be assigned in accordance with the selected courses. A major design project to explore and apply the newly developed hands-on and analytical skills is an integral part of this course. A formal project report and demonstration of prototype must be presented at the end of the semester.
Six Laboratory reports (equal weighting) 30%
One major design project 70%
The breakdown for the design project is as follows:
o Oral Presentation (10%)
o Prototype construction and test (30%)
o On-the-job performance (10%)
o Written Project Report (20%)
